It’s been a while again since I’ve written. In the last few days I’ve had some feedback about Enough Grace to Make Things Right so it got me thinking I better connect on here. The main push came today. I opened up a Facebook message from my oldest son. The message read. (four hearts) thanks mom love you. It came with a picture of Dave, holding up the book he received in the mail today. As most of you know my copies arrived at our house on September 7th.
As soon Dave heard that the story is fictional but reflects some things that actually happened in his life, he wanted a copy. When he made that request we were months away from printing. He upped his request to wanting the first book off the press. I knew by that time that I would never see the first book off the press so I promised him the first book out of the box. On September 7th I opened the first box of books, I took a book out, and wrote “First book out of the box for you Dave, Love Mom.” And that book sat on the top shelf of my computer desk for thirty-seven days. He’d given me an address at the beginning of August, but I wasn’t sending “the first one out of the box” off unless I was sure he still lived there. Finally he called, and the book was on its way.

When I was ready to publish Enough Grace I received what they call a “Blueprint” from the publisher. It’s a guide to their publishing process. It has to be filled out and one of the things you have to include is a section called “Target Audience”. I wanted to write everyone and anyone but I knew that wasn’t acceptable so this is what I wrote: Adults young and old. Those who were: foster children, adopted, abused and abusers. Prisoners and prodigals and those who have loved and prayed for them for years. Church people and seniors who have poured into kids’ and young peoples’ lives. Any person who likes a good read, along with a reminder of God’s love and grace and the challenge that we must give grace to others. Maybe you don’t fit into any of those categories but I really wasn’t targeting anyone. From the start I’ve been praying that the book will get into the hands of the people it was meant for. I want people to enjoy the read but more importantly experience the Giver of the love and grace they read about.
Back to that son of mine. I’m hoping he likes the book. If you’re a praying person I’d appreciate your prayers for Dave. I’m hoping the Lord speaks to him as he reads it. If you have a loved one that struggles I would be glad to pray for them. I’m thinking that we all need God’s grace to pour over us every day. If you’ve read the book I’d love to hear what you think of it. You can contact me at janetweilerauthor@gmail.com
I think one friend of mine was surprised that she liked it. She said it made her cry and I told her it makes me cry too. Of course I cry a lot… sad tears, happy tears… there’s lots of those in the book. Do any of you remember the song Tears are a language that God understands? Yes… I’m getting old… It was a long time ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5fdv2bMbJk
Another friend wrote today to tell me she read until four o’clock this morning. She said: I am so happy for you that you followed your dream to write and share God’s power to change lives and “make it right“. Yes, that kind of sums it up for me. Because He does.
